Growth opportunities in professional youth work.

contribution of a multi-methodic approach on the personal development and social participation of socially vulnerable youngsters.

Other

Professional youth work contributes to the personal development of young people in vulnerable situations, strengthens their social networks and increases their social participation. This is apparent from the dissertation by Jolanda Sonneveld (Tranzo, Tilburg University and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) in which research was conducted into whether and how a multi-method approach to youth work contributes to the development of young people who grow up in vulnerable situations. For the study, 1,597 young people were followed for a longer period of time, in collaboration with 11 youth work organisations. Insights were also collected through qualitative methods such as interviews and logs.
