IMAGE SUMMIT - Researching the City: Mapping imaginaries
ConferenceWe are pleased to invite you to IMAGE SUMMIT - Researching the City: Mapping imaginaries.
In cooperation with City Council Amsterdam Southeast and the AUAS Centre of Expertise of Urban Governance and Social innovation.
On 8 November, we will share and celebrate the results of the intercity project IMAGE Researching the City Mapping Imaginaries, co-funded by Erasmus + programme of the European Union.
The Summit offers workshops/sessions on mapping imaginaries method, on a toolkit for researching the city, and on teachers’ training material. We will reveal our online platform, the ‘Knowledge Hub’ generated by students and local partners, a scientific magazine, and a trailer of the documentary we are creating. We will further engage with related reflections on images, cooperation, media, and representation. All of the above is, of course, powered by an international-intercity lunch and celebrated with closing festive drinks.
After two years of partnering and collaborating within this Erasmus + funded project, we aim to present the higher education materials we have co-developed within the consortium of five universities, with more than 350 students, and together with our city partners from Amsterdam, Barcelona, Lisbon, Paris, and Vienna. We have run three collaborative editions of projects within the International Image Lab (ILL) that enabled students to contribute to mapping imaginaries of our cities (also with sentient data), stimulating our collective critical thinking and at the same time creating infrastructure for higher education institutes (HEI’s) that facilitates the ‘mapping imaginaries’ method.
