Eventually I see myself developing into a Data Science lead within EXSYN, tackling all sorts of maintenance data analytical questions.
Ralph Koerse - Graduated in 2021 from the Aviation Engineering MRO track
How did you get your current job?
I discovered I like working with data during the minor Data Science. Therefore, for my internship I searched for a company within the aviation and airworthiness data sector. The internship went well, and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to join the EXSYN team after graduation.
What are your daily operations?
My daily operations consist of supporting/consulting airlines & MRO’s in managing their aircraft data. In addition, I participate as subject matter expert in customer projects related to aircraft maintenance data (think of aircraft airworthiness data transfers), implementation of maintenance data analytics (aircraft reliability analysis), automation, and aircraft maintenance systems.
What do you like the most at your job?
Continuously learning and developing myself, both professionally and personally, while actively contributing to the further development of EXSYN’s data solutions. In addition, I work with a team of young experts, which is always a lot of fun.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Within 5 years, I want to pursue a master’s degree in Data Science, to deepen my data skills. Eventually I see myself developing into a Data Science lead within EXSYN, tackling all sorts of maintenance data analytical questions.
What do you like the most from your education that helps you out currently in your work?
The fourth year specialization and especially the assignments for an actual company in the aviation industry were extremely helpful in acquiring practical knowledge and skills. Also, teachers that discussed practical examples helped translate theory into practice.
