Margo van Hartingsveldt is a professor of Occupational Therapy – Participation & Environment at the AUAS. Her research focuses on enabling people to participate in daily life and society. She strives for an inclusive society where everyone can fully participate and feel connected.

About Margo van Hartingsveldt
Margo van Hartingsveldt is a professor of Occupational Therapy – Participation & Environment at the AUAS and has more than 25 years of experience as a (pediatric) occupational therapist in healthcare and education. From 2003 to 2011 she was researcher and head of Occupational Therapy department at Radboudumc, and from 2011 to 2024 she was head of the school of Occupational Therapy at the AUAS.
Margo graduated as an occupational therapist in 1983 and obtained her MSc in Allied Health Care cum laude from Radboud University in 2003. In 2014 she obtained her PhD with her dissertation Ready for Handwriting, in
which she developed the Writing Readiness Inventory Tool In Context (WRITIC), a measurement instrument for kindergarten children.
Her research explores the impact of the environment on participation, focusing on themes such as 'Technology and Participation', 'Diversity, Justice and Participation' and 'Child & Youth and Participation'. The projects within her research group contribute to the scientific foundation and innovation of occupational therapy practice.
Margo has made an important contribution to the development of occupational therapy in the Netherlands and is the first author of the Professional Profile Occupational Therapist (2010, 2023) and an editorial board member of the standard work Foundations of Occupational Therapy (2012, 2016, 2023).
