Walther Ploos van Amstel has been Professor of City Logistics at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences since 2014. He also serves as scientific director at the Centre of Expertise City Net Zero since 2023.

About Walther Ploos van Amstel

Walther Ploos van Amstel has been Professor of City Logistics at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences since 2014. He conducts practice-oriented research into opportunities for smart and clean city logistics. He also serves as scientific director at the Centre of Expertise City Net Zero since 2023.

Walther holds a PhD from the Free University Amsterdam on the organisation of logistics control. He was Professor of Logistics at the Netherlands Defence Academy in Breda and Den Helder from 2002 to 2009. Prior to that, he worked for more than 25 years as an organisational consultant, specialising in logistics, supply-chain management and international distribution.
