About Rick Wolbertus

Rick Wolbertus is Associate professor of Smart Energy Systems in the Energy & Innovation research group, where he works on projects relating to the energy transition and the integration of new energy systems into the power grid.

His research revolves around smart algorithms applied in practice and translating choices into policy. In 2020, Rick completed his PhD on charging infrastructure for electric cars. In addition to his work as a researcher, he teaches on energy systems in urban systems.

Rick holds a degree in Innovation Sciences from Eindhoven University of Technology, where he researched, among other things, coverage of alternative fuels and the effects of the unitary patent on innovative SMEs in the Netherlands. In 2014 and 2015, Rick worked as an Innovation Grants Consultant.
