Since 2021, we have been part of the City Deal Impact Entrepreneurship, an ecosystem of nearly 100 partners consisting of governments, financiers, advisory firms, and impact entrepreneurs with the aim of advancing impact entrepreneurship. On Thursday, May 30, we signed the City Deal Impact Entrepreneurship 2.0 during the Government Congress of Social Enterprise NL.

Results City Deal

In recent years, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences has completed a research assignment on impact measurement through the City Deal, among other initiatives. The results of that research can be found here. Additionally, through the City Deal, we participate in the Knowledge and Innovation Covenant project of SCENTISS (Social and Community-driven Entrepreneurship for the Transition to an Inclusive and Sustainable Society) of the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO). Through that project, we contribute to the mission-driven top sector and innovation policy of the government.

Impact entrepreneurship visible and integrated into education

But we're not done yet! On Thursday, May 30, during the Government Congress of Social Enterprise NL, we signed the City Deal Impact Entrepreneurship 2.0. Entrepreneurship with a positive impact on society and the environment is still not visible enough. Additionally, it's important that this form of entrepreneurship finds a proper place in curricula, not only in higher education but also at other educational levels.

In the next two years, AUAS will therefore focus on the themes of 'making impact entrepreneurship visible' and 'incorporating impact entrepreneurship into educational curricula.' With the extension of the City Deal, we can take extra steps to clarify how companies can demonstrate their impact, connect initiatives, and share good practices of impact entrepreneurship.
