Two-step verification via Tiqr

Many AUAS information systems that require access via the internet will feature two-step verification using Tiqr (or Microsoft Authenticator). Please make sure to activate the Tiqr app in time. Find out how to activate Tiqr on this page.

A large number of security breaches are the result of the misuse of passwords. The Tiqr app essentially adds another lock to the door. For accessing Microsoft 365 apps, the Microsoft Authenticator app will still apply.

Register and activate the Tiqr-app

Step 1. Request a Tiqr activation code

  1. Download the Tiqr app on your mobile phone from the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Go to the SURFconext registration portal and select ‘Add Token’ > ‘Tiqr’.
  3. You will now see a QR code. Scan it with the Tiqr app (on your mobile phone) and select ‘OK’.
  4. Enter a PIN and memorise it (or choose facial recognition or fingerprint verification). Please note that you will not be able to change the PIN code at a later stage!
  5. You will receive a confirmation email with a link. Your activation code will be shown on the screen when you click on the link, but it will also be emailed to you.
  6. Keep the activation code safe and take it to a service desk to get your Tiqr app activated.

Step 2. Activate your Tiqr app at a service point or service desk

Please visit one of these service desks:

  • Corry Tendeloohuis (CTH) Business campus
  • Dr. Meurerhuis (DMH) Sport en voedingcampus
  • Hogehilweg (HHW)
  • Kohnstammhuis (KSH) Amstelcampus
  • Nicolaes Tulphuis (NTH)
  • Wibauthuis (WBH) Amstelcampus

You can find the opening hours and addresses on the AUAS location page.
