G. Hernandez (Gian-Louis)
Assistant Professor Intercultural Communication and Responsible LeadershipGian Hernandez started with the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in 2024. His research interests include organizational representations of diversity and larger issues concerning intercultural communication. His current projects draw on various critical contexts, including higher education institutions, museums, and corporations. His research aims to understand how critical theorization can contribute to undoing global inequalities.
Dr. Hernandez's scholarly contributions have left a significant mark in the academic world. His works have been published in esteemed international peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of International Studies, Journal of Contemporary European Studies, and Journal of Multidisciplinary Perspectives of Education, among others. He shares his insights and findings at various academic conferences across Europe and North America.
In the AMSIB, Dr. Hernandez teaches courses regarding intercultural interaction, including Cross Cultural Awareness, Cross-Cultural Analysis, and Cross-Cultural Management. He also teaches Advanced Leadership Development.
He holds a BA in Communication Studies and a BM in Classical Music from San Francisco State University, an MA in Global Studies from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) Argentina, and a Ph.D. in Intercultural Communication from the Università della Svizzera italiana.
