Career opportunities

The OT-Euromaster program is designed to advance the professional and academic development of Occupational Therapists. Many graduates report significant changes in their career paths following graduation, such as increased job satisfaction, assuming greater responsibilities within their teams, or transitioning into roles in education, research, or management. The following testimonials from alumni will give you insight into their experiences and how the program has positively impacted their careers

Aline Burkart

"Before pursuing the European MSc in Occupational Therapy, I realized I wanted more than just patient work—I was eager to reflect on broader topics, take on projects, and make a greater impact. The program gave me invaluable insights from experienced faculty and allowed me to explore my own interests in-depth. Working with peers from diverse backgrounds enriched my learning experience and helped me develop essential skills, like teamwork and tackling complex concepts.

The Master’s program not only enhanced my professional skills but also helped me grow personally, boosting my confidence in taking on new roles. It’s thanks to this that I now hold leadership positions at a clinic and in the Occupational Therapy Association. The connections I made during the program have been instrumental in my career, and I continue to benefit from the support and collaboration within the occupational therapy community. I’m excited to keep evolving, and I’m already looking forward to my next challenge: a CAS in Business Management and Leadership."

"I didn’t start my career as an Occupational Therapist right away, but I eventually found my passion through an experience working with a child who had multiple disabilities. The hands-on, one-on-one approach of occupational therapy resonated with me, and I knew it was the right path. After completing my degree in Social Pedagogical Help, I pursued a specialized program in Occupational Therapy and began working at a daycare center for severely disabled children.

The idea of pursuing the OT-Euromaster was with me for a long time. I was drawn to the program’s international scope, taught across five universities, and its English-language focus, which prepared me for research and global collaboration. Since completing the master’s, I’ve earned great respect from colleagues and have taken on more research projects. My next goal is to publish my Master’s thesis and integrate research into my daily work. "

Danée Arends

"I started my journey in occupational therapy in 2014 at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, where I quickly became involved in the curriculum committee and international initiatives, attending ENOTHE conferences in Bulgaria and Galway. Pursuing the European Master of Science in Occupational Therapy allowed me to connect research directly to my practice, especially focusing on patients with hand conditions. The hands-on approach made the program particularly relevant and practical. During my studies, I collaborated on a research project at the Hand Wrist Study Group, which led to an opportunity to work as a qualitative researcher at Erasmus Medical Center on outcome-based care, with findings published and presented internationally. Since graduating in 2023, I’ve started a PhD at Erasmus MC, exploring the future use of patient and outcome data in daily care.
