Selection procedure

The Digital Fashion Technology track of the Master in Digital Design has a limit of 24 students and employs a selection procedure. Admissions will follow a two-phase process, with an initial screening of the candidates’ motivation, CV, and required documents, followed by interviews (via teleconferencing) of successful applicants.

Selection procedure

The Digital Fashion Technology track of the Master’s programme in Digital Design welcomes 24 (international) students each year. Candidates must demonstrate relevant experience and knowledge through a portfolio, curriculum vitae, and motivation document.

Enrolment and study check

For the 2025-2026 academic year make sure to enrol by 1 May 2025 at the latest. To do so, follow the step-by-step plan. Admission process

The process begins by submitting your application on Studielink.nl. Based on your undergraduate degree, and visa status, the timelines of the admission process can differ. We advise you to apply earlier than the application deadline and to upload your documents on time. The application deadline for non-EU students is March 1st and the deadline for EU students is May 1st.

Admissions will follow a two-phase process, with an initial screening of the candidates’ motivation, CV, and portfolio, followed by interviews (via teleconferencing) of successful applicants.

The application process is as follows:

  • Please check the Admission requirements.
  • Register your application through Studielink ; within 48 hours you will receive an email confirmation.
  • In your confirmation email, you will be asked to submit your application, which includes the following:
    1. Completion of a form where you provide, amongst others your experience; important projects; and motivation. A link to the form will be provided to you upon registration.
    2. Sending of required documentation, including diplomas and portfolio.
  • Based on the above, a number of applicants will be invited for an interview, which will determine whether the admission committee will offer you one of the 24 places at the programme.

Candidates will be evaluated on:

  • Their motivation for the programme
  • Their interest in the field of digital fashion technology, preferably by their familiarity with current and upcoming trends in digital, fashion and/or digital fashion technologies as well as an awareness of the broader social, economic, technical and cultural effects of these trends
  • Ability to explain a making process (of their own, or a chosen digital and/or fashion artefact) and elaborate on the different stages of the product and the people that were involved
  • Evidence of digital and/or creative skills, shown in a project
  • their willingness and ability to work in a community of practice, share their knowledge and skills, and learn from others

Note: Do you not fully meet the requirements, but do you think you have the relevant knowledge to apply? Do so! The field of digital fashion technologies is developing rapidly, and motivation to participate is ultimately the most important thing.
