Integrated Complex Care

About the research group

The Integrated Complex Care research group focuses on ways to better address complex care issues. Due to a combination of physical, mental, or social problems, an increasing number of patients require care from various professionals. Sometimes, these patients also lack trust in the healthcare system. The research group develops new care models that enhance collaboration among healthcare providers and improve care for vulnerable groups.

Professional development for healthcare providers

The research group works closely with healthcare institutions, professionals, and education to apply scientific research in practice. Innovation and technology, such as eHealth and personalised care, play a significant role in this. Additionally, the research group assists healthcare providers with training and education to enhance their skills. This benefits both patients and the healthcare system.

Academic workplaces

The research group also strengthens collaboration between research, practice, and education by partnering with organisations such as Cordaan, Omring, and Amsterdam UMC on academic learning workplaces.

Connection with education

The research group is part of the Nursing cluster, which includes the Master's in Critical Care, the Master's in Mental Health Nursing, and the Bachelor's in Nursing (HBO). Researchers provide education in these programmes, and students can participate in research projects or complete their thesis within a research project of the chair.

International Networks

Professor Corine Latour collaborates with international organisations such as the Case Management Society of America, the European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine, and the INTERMED consortium.
