How is it that everyone understands the importance of physical activity and play for the development of children and young people, yet it is not automatically a part of their daily routine? The research group Physical Activity in and around Schools collaborates with partners to achieve its mission: ensuring that all children develop good movement skills, engage in regular and sufficient daily physical activity, and enjoy being active.

Mirka Janssen
Professor Physical Activity in and around School
Mirka Janssen has been working at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) since 2007 and serves as the professor of Physical Activity in and around Schools, the core research group of the Academy for Physical Education (ALO).
