Recovery-Oriented Practice in Severe Mental Illness
Recovery and inclusion for people with SMI
Approximately 250,000 people in the Netherlands have severe mental illness (SMI), such as psychosis, depression, and addiction. They have the same desires as other citizens but face challenges related to health, treatment, safety, income, employment, and relationships. Their needs are not only related to mental health issues but also to stigma and rejection. The Recovery-Oriented Care for Severe Mental Illness research group investigates ways to improve care for these people.
