Studio Data Driven Business

In the Data Driven Business studio, you learn how to help organizations work in a data-driven way. You ensure that data from the cloud becomes available, is processed clearly, and is presented in an organized way – for example, with machine learning. Discover what organizations can do with data and work on real-world challenges.

What profiles does this studio offer?

  1. Artificial Intelligence Engineer
  2. Cloud Engineer
  3. Security Engineer
  4. Digital Business Engineer

Data-driven work is all around us. What once began in marketing and social media is now an essential part of almost every sector. Companies use data to optimize processes, such as logistical improvements or applying IoT technology to predict and reduce maintenance.

Social issues also benefit from data-driven solutions: from preventing wildfires with sensor data, supporting payment arrears, to dashboards that assist policymakers in complex decision-making. Even climate measures, such as smart meters, show how widely data is being used.

However, data-driven work also presents challenges. Consider the childcare benefits scandal or the risk indication system SyRI, where discrimination due to implicit biases in data led to major societal problems. Diversity and ethics play a crucial role in ensuring that data is used fairly and responsibly.

ICT plays a key role in data-driven work. Whether you're building dashboards, implementing IoT, using AI, or developing cloud-native solutions, data is the foundation. Cloud solutions and secure data pipelines make it possible to turn data-driven ideas into action.

Assignments

Collect data, analyze, build pipelines and dashboards, design cloud architectures, and implement machine learning.

Examples

International Cosmetics Brand

Develop a data-driven solution to map market trends and customer needs for an international cosmetics chain. Collect and analyze external data, such as social media, product reviews, and competitor information, to gain insights into sentiment and product popularity. Build a dashboard that presents these insights in an organized manner and provides recommendations for strategic decisions, such as product development and marketing campaigns. The project combines data analysis, cloud solutions, and visualization techniques to help the chain remain competitive and innovative.

What makes this studio special?

You will not only learn how to build technical solutions, but also how these solutions transform the operations of organizations and impact society. From smart Netflix recommendations to addictive algorithms and privacy issues – you will discover how data drives both management decisions and consumer behavior. You will work with a variety of ICT tools and gain insight into how your work as an ICT professional fits into the bigger picture. This way, you will not only be technically skilled, but also ready to discuss ethics and the role of data in society.
