Forensic Research Skills

This programme studies and dives into the forensic use and latest developments of DNA Data, Open Source Intelligence and Biometrics.

Programme Outline

  • Credits: 30 ECTS 
  • Educational format: lectures, workshops, interdisciplinary research. You won’t be doing laboratory or crime scene investigation work
  • Duration: autumn semester from beginning of September until end of January or spring semester from beginning of February until mid-July

Autumn semester

  • Mandatory introduction & kick-off: first week of September
  • Start programme: first week of September
  • End programme: last week of January / first week of February

Spring semester

  • Mandatory introduction & kick-off: first week of February
  • Start programme: first week of February
  • End programme: last week of June / first week of July

 

Notes

At the end of this exchange programme you will:

  • Apply knowledge of basic research skills in various contexts;
  • Conduct Open Source Intelligence research in a systematic way;
  • Use logical reasoning and valid arguments to defend your point of view on the use of DNA data for a specific forensic purpose;
  • Review the current state of new technologies in biometrics.
