Future-Proof City

This programme addresses the complex issues of modern urban growth and helps the Built Environment students to acquire the competences necessary for the 21th century.

Programme Outline

  • Credits: 30 ECTS 
  • Educational format: self study and cooperation in a project team, workshops, training and excursions
  • Term: spring semester, from beginning of February until mid-July

Important dates

Spring semester

  • Mandatory introduction & kick-off: first week of February
  • Start programme: first week of February
  • End programme: last week of June / first week of July

Notes

The programme is structured as follows:

  • A 6-week orientation, inspiration, interpretation and organisation phase, resulting in a core issue that you and your team will work on and incorporate in your Minor Study Plan which will serve as a guideline for the rest of the programme;
  • A 6-week deepdive research phase: research, data analysis, starting points final product;
  • A 6-week final phase: making a professional product validation, final product, reflection on the process and assignment, presentation and eventually corrections/changes.
