Title of Session: Global Citizenship Conversation
We invite you, our visiting guests, to discuss and assess the inclusion of global citizenship across our various educational and research programmes, and to explore ideas and share experiences in dealing with the rising social, political, and environmental challenges facing us. Such global challenges as migration, climate change, conflicts, and the impact of social media are often localised while the global component is considered problematic. How might we connect and collaborate in ways to support ourselves and our students in tackling these confrontational global challenges while embedding global citizenship in our education?

In this position, he oversees the implementation AMSIB's strategic plan for students, staff, and partners which fosters a sense of belonging both on and off campus. Cristina Marques is AMSIB's Diversity and Inclusion Officer. In this position, she contributes to creating and fostering an open and safe environment, and to grant equal opportunities for all our lecturers and students regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender and cultural heritage. |

Workshop 3: Title: Fostering Task-Readiness for self-directed learning tasks in highly contextualised learning settings.
Speaker: Anoesjka Timmermans DBA, Amsterdam School of International Business
Join us for a workshop in which we’ll discuss (and practice) with a teaching / learning framework. that may help educators foster perceived task-readiness for the radically new learning activities that characterise education in venture creation programmes and communities of practice.
The framework, which is the result of a doctoral research, hierarchically stages common (entrepreneurship) pedagogies (from passive, instructor-led to active self-steering) as these are commonly used in undergraduate business programmes to match with participants perceived ‘readiness’ to take ownership over their learning through building self-confidence for the tasks at hand.
Bio: Anoesjka Timmermans, DBA, is senior lecturer and researcher in entrepreneurship and marketing at AMSIB. She has an academic background in humanities and international business and a practical business background as the founder and CEO of an international trade company specialised in the development and export of consumer products. She completed her doctoral research on the topic of preparing undergraduate students for self-directed learning in highly contextualised (entrepreneurial) learning settings. She regularly visits business schools abroad to train trainers in active learning formats to enhance student engagement and deep learning. |
