Corine Latour obtained a professional Nursing degree in 1989 and went on to work at various psychiatric institutions in Amsterdam. She subsequently obtained an Advanced Nursing Practice degree in mental healthcare and in 1991 joined the VU University Medical Center's Psychiatric Consultation Service, simultaneously studying Evidence Based Practice at the AMC-UvA.
In 2006 she took her doctorate, supervised by Wim Stalman, professor of General Medical Practice at VU Amsterdam, with a thesis on Coordination of Care for the Complex Medically Ill. Shortly thereafter she was appointed to lecture in Nursing at the AUAS. Since then, Corine has held various posts at the AUAS, currently a dual appointment as programme manager of the BSc Nursing and core professor Integrated Complex Care, since 2015.
Corine also chairs the Dutch national Anna Reynvaan student award committee and a member of the National Nursing Education Consultative Committee (Landelijk Overleg Onderwijs Verpleegkunde; LOOV). Corine is further a member of the INTERMED consortium and active in the Case Management Society of America (CMSA).
In her time off, Corine can be found either at the fitness club, 20 metres underwater, fine dining with friends, or at home enjoying beer, chips and Catan. You might also find her on the couch watching series like House of Cards, The Blacklist and Borgen – but not in the summer, because then she's off satisfying her travel bug in far-flung destinations with her husband and son.
