Faculty of Health, Sport and Physical Activity

The Faculty of Health, Sport and Physical Activity is the home for all students we train to become professionals and contribute to a healthy, active, and vital Amsterdam. Our research is also entirely focused on vitality. We are working towards a society where we teach both young and old to be physically active, raise awareness about healthy nutrition and lifestyle, and strive to provide accessible support for health issues to everyone.

Our faculty is located on 2 campuses, with a strong focus on the Amsterdam districts where we are based: the Health Campus in Southeast and the Sports and Nutrition Campus in New West. Thanks to the wide range of expertise we have in-house, we offer students and researchers an excellent cross-pollination between (paramedical) care, preventive healthy lifestyles, sports, movement, and nutrition. This way, we train professionals in an interprofessional manner, ensuring they can collaborate effectively in the field.

Lifelong learning

Whether you've just finished high school, completed a vocational (MBO) programme, or are working as a professional in healthcare, the Faculty of Health, Sport and Physical Activity offers a wide range of Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes, as well as continuing education .

Sharing knowledge

The development and sharing of state-of-the-art knowledge takes place through the Centre of Expertise (CoE) Urban Vitality . The goal of the CoE is to facilitate knowledge exchange between education, research, and the professional field. In addition to education, the CoE is a partner for businesses and organisations in the fields of healthcare, movement, nutrition, and sports.
