Separating waste
At all AUAS locations, we separate our waste into 4 waste streams:
- Organic waste
- Residual waste and cans
- Plastic and drinks cartons
- Paper

Waste that is not put into the correct bin results in all the waste in that bin having to be incinerated. By the bins, you are therefore shown what should go in which bin.

Deposit donation bins
At the restaurant checkouts, you will often find deposit donation bins (recognizable by the orange lid). The deposit from cans and bottles collected in these bins is donated to Trees for All and the Plastic Soup Foundation. Unfortunately, other waste is often thrown into these bins as well, making it impossible to return the bottles and cans. As a result, they are not recycled, and the deposit cannot be donated to charity. Since this system does not always work well, we will not be placing additional deposit donation bins.
