How to enroll in courses

Navigate to the Course Selector on MyAUAS and enroll the courses of your study programme.

How to personalize your brightspace

In Brightspace, you can change your profile settings as you see fit. You can choose which courses you want to see by pinning them down, but also settings for accessibility and notifications. More explanation can be found in the Brigthspace tutorial. Read here how you adjust the settings. When you first log into the Student Course, set your language via the Course Home to view the content.

• You log in to Brightspace using your HvA ID and password.
• Want to change your password or have you forgotten it? Go to id.student.hva.nl, click on the appropriate field, log in with your HvA-ID and password or date of birth and follow the next steps.
• Brightspace works well on your mobile or tablet.

The Pulse app for overview

The Pulse app offers a helpful overview of the courses you are enrolled in. Clicking on a course will take you to the content as you know it from the web version. To view the content or assignments, you will be linked to the web version and need to log in with your HvA ID and password. Furthermore, you can also view your achieved grades and make use of push notifications that you can set. To do so, go to ‘Settings’ and ‘Push notifications’ in the Pulse app.

Selecting, unfollowing and pinning courses

Only once you have selected courses via Course Selector on MyAUAS you will take part in the courses of your study programme. Don't see any courses in Brightspace? Please contact the Service Desk ICT Services, 020 - 595 1402 or report this via serviceportal.hva.nl.

You can also remove courses via the Course Selector on MyAUAS: you can ‘Unfollow’ the courses in question.

The calendar in Brightspace

Currently, you will only find start and finish times and deadlines of activities and study materials in Brightspace in the calendars. However, it is possible to export this calendar to your own calendar application. Go to rooster.hva.nl for your class schedule.

Submitting an assignment

Read the known problems and error messages here.

If the source reference is not displayed correctly in Word, you can make a PDF of your document and submit it (again).

Brightspace's Gradebook

You may find grades in your Gradebook (see Course Tools > Grades) for assignments submitted in Brightspace. However, you will find the official final results in SIS.hva.nl.
