UV Open science clubs
Informal bottom-up ReproducibiliTea journal clubs to discuss diverse issues, papers and/or ideas about open science, improving practice-oriented research, research methodology and FAIR data. Below you will find three initiatives that we started or will start. If you have an idea for a journal club yourself let us know and we'll help you organize one.
METHODOLOTEA: WHAT IF
Duration: September 2020 - January 2021 | Organizer: Gerben ter Riet
METHODOLOTEA: WHAT IF
Journal club that takes the book What If by Miguel Hernan en James Robins as starting point. The book is about causal inference in observational studies. Probably their theory will completely change your ideas about trials and observational studies and the difference between the two.
REUSABILITEA: FAIRIFICATION
Duration: February 2020 - June 2020 (finished) | Organizer: Niek van Ulzen
ReusabiliTea: FAIRification
In the context of the Urban Vitality seed money project 'FAIR: geen woorden maar data' we explored how to implement FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Resusable) data principles in practice-oriented research. We also discussed about ideas for new (datadriven) projects and how to make data more tangible via data physicalization. More information about the results of this project you will find in the links below.
METHODOLOTEA: QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
Duration: in preparation | Organizer: Fenna van Nes
MethodoloTea: Qualitative research - Meeting & meaning
Are you considering or using qualitative research methods? Do you experience issues related to all the decisions you have to make during the research process? Then consider joining the online QR Club: Meeting & Meaning. The club aims to form an online platform for UV researchers to meet each other to exchange experiences and discuss in a practice-oriented way QR methods.
